If you or anyone you know might like to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity on Tuesdays or Thursdays, contact Marjie Johnson- 669-9769. Habitat may be losing a couple of key volunteers who have contributed many of the required Lutheran/Thrivent hours and are looking for additional volunteers.
Thrivent Builds/Habitat for Humanity
Thrivent Builds/Habitat for Humanity: If you want to help work on the 2010 house, call Jean Weiss (593-1173). If you wish to make a monetary donation, please make a check out to "THRIVENT BUILDS and give it to Tom Aberle or Pastor Ed. Thank you for your support.
The exciting news is that we have a family for our Thrivent Builds 2010 home! Kayleena and her son Jeremy are chomping at the bit to begin construction on their new house at 2118 East 11th in Boise Village North. The foundation should be in by mid-April, and church crews will start hammering away shortly after that. The home will be a 3-bedroom ranch with a crawl space. Why 3 bedrooms? Kayleena is expecting a new addition to their family in April, so this will be a very busy time for her, and we'll need lots of help to get her on her way toward home ownership.
Look for volunteer sign up sheets to be posted on the church bulletin board, or contact your church Thrivent Builds Champion (Jean Weiss @ 593-1173) to express interest in helping with the build. In addition to the Gift In Kind requests from last month's newsletter, we are looking for a few special volunteers for this home. If you have photography or scrap booking skills, we would like to present Kayleena with a scrapbook history of her home being built. If we could find a photographer willing to follow the build from start to finish that would be wonderful, then we would need some creative souls to put it all together in book form. Also, we've had some dedicated volunteers on our Tuesday and Thursday crews that are moving on to other challenges. If you would like to put some time in on those days, please contact Marjie in the Habitat office at 669-9769.
Of course to build this home we need to raise some money. We will once again be doing our lawn aeration fundraiser in April. For a donation of $40-$50, or an amount you deem appropriate, we will come and put a bunch of holes in your grass and leave little dirt clods all over your yard. What a deal! Look for sign up sheets which will announce the dates and contact information. Another fundraiser being contemplated is a bowlathon later in the year...
On a final note, Loveland Habitat for Humanity is hosting their annual Hard Hat Gala (this year in conjunction with Ft Collins HFH). The theme is "Voyage to Africa", and it will be held Saturday, April 10th. Call the Habitat office for details.

Scrapbook
Last year, Sarah Hovi’s mom prepared a scrapbook of the Thrivent Builds/Habitat for Humanity build process of her house and presented it to her at the dedication. If there are photography/scrapbook enthusiasts who would like to volunteer for a similar project, please contact Tom Aberle (225-2939).
