~Prayers
During the last few weeks these are the members that we have been praying for~ Please continue to pray for these members:  Janet Due, George Davis, Jean Shannon, Do Lockwood, Rick Searles, Marcy Young, Arden Parker, Patti Boland, Virginia Stokes, Dee Williamson, Rocke Verser, Dale Johnson, Audrey Gadbois      

~First Communion Classes will be starting.  We invite any third graders and older youth who are either new to the congregation or did not participate in their third grade year are also welcomed to learn about this Holy Sacrament. 

Our first communion classes will begin Sunday February 28th and go for 4 weeks ending on Sunday March 21st.  Classes will be after second service, so please bring a sack lunch.  We ask that parents be present with the youth during classes (as parents are the biggest faith influences on our youth today).  Pastor Ed Smith, Brian Johnson and Anne Kilbourn will be our teachers again this year.  If you are interested and would like to participate in this class please contact Deaconess Ann Maki ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. ~Potluck~ Friday, Feb. 19th,   6 pm at Paul & Kathy Hume’s house. 

~Trinity Lutheran Preschool will be having their Chili supper fundraiser and silent auction on Friday, Feb 12th.  If you have any items you would like to donate for the auction please call Sharie Biermann at 667-5769.  Come and enjoy some delicious chili or chicken noodle soup and help support our preschool.  The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children.

~As part of the Student Scholars Program at Lutheran Campus Ministry, Jeff Aberle's essay, The Reforms of Luther and Calvin:  How they Caused the Downfall of the Roman Catholic Church's Hegemony over all of Christendom, has been published on their website. ~Good Timers will meet on Feb. 12th at noon for a potluck lunch.  Earl Stevens will share some poetry after the meal.

 

~FREEDOM SUNDAY

Trinity is joining congregations around the world in observing Freedom Sunday on Feb. 21st.  It is a time to lift up the 27 million slaves in the world and to commit ourselves to Jesus, the original Abolitionist, to join in the movement to set the captured free.  Books and fair trade coffee and chocolate will be available and a Not for Sale video will be shown between service.

~Lent

 Join us as we begin our Lenten journey this year, on Ash Wednesday, February 17th at  7 pm.  We will then have our traditional Lenten Wednesday night services at 7pm.  Join us for our Lenten suppers at 6 pm.  Please read the special Lenten insert included with this month’s Tidings~
