On Saturday May 15, a member of our congregation Mark Honstein, graduated after seven years of study from Denver Theological Seminary. Mark is desirous of serving a Lutheran congregation and will now have to spend one year at a Lutheran seminary and serve one year as an intern in a Lutheran church. Needless to say this has been a long and expensive journey for Mark but he is nearing his goal, fought the good fight and has kept the faith. Mark will now meet with the Rocky Mountain candidacy committee to be approved for ministry. The cost of the certification process is $800.00. The church council would like to help Mark with this and use our seminary scholarship fund for this purpose. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, we have depleted this fund to help our former youth minister J.T. Burk with his seminary expenses. J.T. has just graduated and is in the process of accepting a call to Beach North Dakota. Praise the Lord that we can share such fine Christians with other congregations. Exactly what our Lord called us to do and empowered us on the day of Pentecost.
If you would like to help Mark and help replenish our seminary scholarship fund, please use the enclosed seminary support envelope and return it to the church.
Thank you very much,
Pastor Ed
